Smudge’s Art Room
-
qualified artists guide children through a variety of art and craft
activities that change weekly and include drawing, sticking,
painting, building, gluing, singing, dancing, moulding, sculpting,
learning, expressing and of course smiling and laughing. Each Smudge
child will leave with not only the masterpiece they created, but
having had an enriching experience that leaves their imagination
tingling with excitement. The art room offers a wonderful array of
activities including painting, drawing, beading and sticking - all
under supervision of friendly and attentive staff.
The
music room
offers a
dreamland of sound - rain shakers and xylophones adorn the walls
along with a massive bass drum and tons of percussion instruments,
affording children the chance to create their own music and rhythms.
Specialised music workshops, are offered by a qualified music
therapist monthly.
In the
dress-up area
children can create their own fantasies in a ceiling suspended tent,
dressing up as pirates and princesses accessorised by feather boas,
hats, shoes and jewellery. We have wonderful Disney costumes
including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Aerial, Belle and Tinkerbelle
as well as the boys favourites Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Pirates, Mr
Incredible and Power Rangers suits. This is the room where the magic
comes alive and your little ones explore their creativity to their
fullest.
Smudge’s book lounge
offers a quiet space for children to pick up their favourite book
and curl up and read on comfy floor cushions. Special sessions will
include book readings.
Smudge's baby area
is
situated next to the coffee shop so you can see your baby whilst you
relax close-by. The baby area includes a soft baby play-pen with
loads of soft toys and musical instruments for stimulation, a
soft-play climbing toy, play-dough tables and giant felt boards.
Friendly staff are always on hand to look after your baby whilst you
take a much needed break.
And while all the creative fun is going on, mum, dads, grannies and
nannies can relax in the
coffee shop
which offers
freshly baked cakes and pastries as well as a little icing table for
children to create their own magical cupcakes.
Smudge's shop
is full of wonderful arts and crafts gifts for children of all ages.
We stock imported paint stamps, sandart bracelets, glitter,
rhinestones, craft boxes, paint, brushes, paper and anything else
you can think of to keep your children busy or take care of those
school projects. We also stock the JellyBean range of toys from the
UK from baby comforters to their first bunny! Also available is the
Maileg range from Denmark offering gorgeous, hand-stitched rabbits,
pigs and giraffe toys. Smudge also sells dress-up clothes including
pirate suits, fairy dresses, wands, crowns, handbags, wings and hats
for all occasions. Pop in to look at our lovely winter scarves,
gloves and non-slip socks!
Smudge’s party room
is a
private room, to host children’s birthday parties with children
choosing a theme and activities for their special occasion. Each
child is made to feel special with their name written on our special
birthday board, a hand-crafted birthday crown and loads of
attention! Qualified artists guide the little ones through the
activity for the party. Parties are charged at R110 per child for
two hours excluding the activity chosen for the day. Activities can
be chosen from a variety of craft projects such as hand puppets,
frames, mosaic, masks, wooden aeroplanes, decorating your own car
and many others. Prices vary per activity. Detailed prices available
on request. Smudge also makes beautiful hand-painted
invitations and party pack bags. Smudge can prepare special "art
party packs" for your craft party at home including an artist to
supervise the children's activity. You can book the whole venue or
just the party room for your special occasion.
Smudge can also be booked
for corporate functions or adult parties.
